Founder and managing director of Onakuviwa Investments has more than 20 years both
education and work experience in the built environment industry. She studied Building
science and qualified as a Quantity Surveyor from the CPUT in the Western Cape in
2002. She then started working as junior and site Quantity Surveyor for construction
companies in the Western Cape. In 2004 she worked for the Stellenbosch Municipality
and became the first black and first female Building Inspector in the department. She then
went back to attain her second qualification and received a BTech degree in Construction
Management. Zingisa’s work ethic and dedication saw her promoted as Building Control
Officer which again became the first black and first female to be appointed in that
post in the mentioned municipality.

She left corporate employment 8 years later to begin her entrepreneurial journey. She
started her first business and has been working in the construction and mining sectors
as a general building service provider and construction consultant ever since. The
previous company went on a restructuring and we continued operating on the newly
registered company in 2021. For the past 13 years, we have completed projects for the
Municipality: City of Cape Town and Stellenbosch Municipalities; Western Cape
Provincial Department: Education, Human Settlements, Health and Public Works;
Parastatal Organization: Prasa Cres and Metrorail.
